WDTC History
The Weston Dog Training Club was founded in 1953 as
a non-profit dog training club. WDTC
trained for many years at the Weston Dog Ranch in Weston, MA. In the 1980s
the club moved training locations to the Waltham Boys and Girls Club in Waltham,
MA where it still trains today.
WDTC has a long history of producing dog and handler teams that
earn titles in the obedience ring. There have also been many blue ribbons
and High in Trial awards over the years.
In 1998 WDTC became a United Kennel Club (UKC)
affiliated club. In 1999 we hosted our first UKC Obedience Trial.
This trial was a huge success and the club continues to host UKC Obedience
Trials every March. Starting in 2010 the club will be hosting UKC Rally
Obedience Trials in addition to the UKC Obedience trials.
